Publication Ethics

Journal International Officium Nobile is an international scientific journal that applies a rigorous and objective peer-review process. This statement describes the ethical standards that must be followed by all parties involved in the process of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, editor-in-chief, editorial board, peer-reviewers, and publisher (Editorial Board Officium Nobileetika). This ethics statement refers to the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines
The publication of an article in the peer-reviewed International Officium Nobile Journal is an important part of the development of integrative and respected scientific knowledge in the field of law and professional ethics. These publications reflect directly on the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them, and build public confidence in the scientific system and the responsible practice of law. It is therefore important to agree on standards of ethical behavior that apply to all parties involved in the publishing process - namely authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers and the scientific community.

The Editorial Board of JION as the publisher of this journal takes its responsibilities seriously at every stage of publishing. We recognize the importance of ethical and professional responsibility in maintaining academic integrity. We are committed to ensuring that commercial aspects such as advertising, sponsorship or other income do not influence the editorial decisions of the journal.

In addition, the JION Editorial Board is ready to support communication and cooperation with other journals, academic institutions, or publishers if necessary in order to maintain transparency and academic integrity. We strive to create a fair, open, and responsible scientific publishing environment in accordance with international standards, specifically referring to the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Publication Ethics Guidelines.

Publication Decisions
The editors of the International Officium Nobile Journal are responsible for deciding which articles should be published from all manuscripts submitted to the journal. This decision should be based on the scientific validity, originality, and relevance of the article to the field of legal ethics, legal professional responsibility, and its contribution to the development of academic discourse and dignified legal practice.

In carrying out this task, editors can be guided by editorial policies set by the editorial board and consider input from the results of the peer-review process. Editors are also obliged to comply with applicable legal provisions, including those relating to defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may consult with members of the editorial board or other bestary partners in the decision-making process to ensure the quality and scientific integrity of each published article.

Fair play
Publisher: Journal International Officium Nobile is committed to evaluating each submitted manuscript solely on its intellectual quality and scientific relevance. Judgments are made without regard to the author's race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views. The editorial process upholds the principles of fairness, objectivity, and non-discrimination at every stage of review.

Confidentiality
Editors and all editorial staff are required to keep all information related to submitted manuscripts confidential. Such information must not be divulged or shared with any party other than the author, peer reviewers, prospective peer reviewers, relevant members of the editorial board, and the publisher as appropriate. This commitment to confidentiality is an essential part of the integrity of the editorial process.

Disclosures and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material submitted in manuscripts under evaluation may not be used for the personal benefit of the editor or any other party without the written consent of the author. Editors are also required to avoid conflicts of interest of any kind that could affect the objectivity of the assessment of a manuscript, whether financial, institutional, or relational in nature. If a potential conflict of interest is identified, the editor should transfer the review task to another independent editor.

Surveyor Tasks
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer reviewers play an important role in supporting the editorial process by providing objective, constructive and targeted scientific input. Peer review contributes directly to helping editors make the right editorial decisions. In addition, the comments provided can also assist authors in improving the quality of the substance and presentation of their manuscripts.

Punctuality
Appointed reviewers who feel they do not have sufficient expertise in a particular topic, or know they cannot complete the review within the allotted time, should immediately notify the editor and withdraw from the review process. A commitment to timeliness is an important part of maintaining the efficiency and integrity of the editorial process.

Confidentiality
Any manuscript accepted for review should be treated as a confidential document. It should not be shown, shared or discussed with any other party without explicit permission from the editor. Maintaining this confidentiality is part of the professional and ethical obligations of reviewers in the peer-review process.

Objectivity Standard
Peer review should be conducted in an objective and scholarly manner. Criticism of the manuscript should be directed at its content and academic quality, not at the authors themselves. Reviewers should express their views clearly and be supported by relevant arguments, evidence or references. A polite and constructive approach is strongly encouraged to encourage improvements in the quality of the manuscript.

Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers are responsible for identifying important references or literature that has not been cited by the authors. Any claim that an idea, finding or argument has been previously published should be accompanied by proper citations. In addition, if reviewers become aware of substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under review and other published works, they are required to report this to the editor.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Information or ideas obtained through the peer review process should be kept confidential and should not be used for personal gain. Reviewers should decline to review a manuscript if they have a conflict of interest stemming from a personal, professional, institutional, or financial relationship with the authors, affiliates, or institutions associated with the manuscript. Reviewer integrity and neutrality are key in maintaining the credibility of the publication process.

Author Duties
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research reports must present an accurate description of the work performed and provide an objective analysis of the significance of the results. Baseline data should be clearly and accurately listed in the manuscript. The article should contain enough details and references to enable other researchers to replicate the study. Submission of misleading or inaccurate information is a serious and unacceptable breach of publication ethics.

Data Access and Retention
Authors should be prepared to provide raw data related to the manuscript to the editor for evaluation purposes. Where possible, authors are also encouraged to provide public access to these data in accordance with the ALPSP-STM Statement on Data and Databases. The data should be retained for a reasonable period of time after publication to support transparency and scientific verification.

Originality and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that the submitted manuscript is their original work. If the author uses quotations, data, or ideas from others, the source must be acknowledged in an appropriate manner and according to academic citation standards. Any form of plagiarism, whether intentional or unintentional, is unethical and will not be tolerated.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same or very similar manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Multiple publications, whether in the form of repeating part or all of the content of the manuscript in various places, are considered a violation of scientific publication ethics.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Acknowledgment of the contributions of others should always be given appropriately. All publications, data, or ideas that were instrumental in the development of the manuscript must be cited accurately. Failure to cite sources may be considered a violation of academic integrity.
